The second phase of the Chengdu 140,000-tonne furnace-drawing technical-upgrade programme was carried out alongside Tongxiang repair work. Its phase and base distinguish it from the earlier Chengdu work and from the Tongxiang programme. The passage presents anticipated quality and operating improvements.
